About the role#
As a Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering intern, you will develop new processes and high-volume automation equipment. You will work with internal teams including Product Design, Operations, Facilities, Production, and Quality Engineering. You will coordinate design activities with tool vendors and take ownership of the design and technical transfer of production tools. Your work involves qualifying these tools to ensure they meet standards for safety, quality, and output.
What you'll do#
- Engineer new manufacturing processes and automation equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs.
- Manage the technical transfer of tooling to operations.
- Qualify equipment for high-volume production environments.
- Coordinate design projects with external vendors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA or SOLIDWORKS.
- Experience with 3D modeling and 2D part and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Familiarity with statistical tools like Process Capability (Cp, Cpk) and Gauge R&R.
- Understanding of Geometric Design & Tolerance (GD&T).
- Hands-on experience with semi-automated or automated manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in a high-volume factory environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Terms: Winter 2027 or Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
