About the role#
Tesla is looking for a User Experience Design Intern to create web and mobile experiences. You will research, design, prototype, and test responsive digital experiences for customers and internal employees. Your work will support the transition to electric vehicles and sustainable energy. You will contribute to the product and design direction from the initial concept through to implementation.
What you'll do#
- Create and implement digital and retail experiences that guide customers through their journey.
- Define UX strategy and focus on user centric design platforms.
- Develop user flows and UI elements while maintaining Tesla design standards.
- Measure how designs perform for target customers and iterate to improve them.
- Collaborate with product managers, content managers, and engineers.
- Present design work to stakeholders and senior leaders on a regular basis.
- Advocate for design consistency across team members and partners.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- A portfolio that showcases user experience, visual design, and UI work.
- Strong design sensibility and user centric storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
- Experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
- Ability to think through complex interaction design independently and within a team.
- Comfort working in an iterative design process under minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- Positions are based in Hawthorne, California or Fremont, California.
- The term runs from Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- You must be able to work 40 hours per week.
- This is a paid internship.
