About the role#
Technical Program Managers in Vehicle Engineering help the company deliver value to customers by setting priorities. You will work to execute and deliver products, revisions, features, and fixes on time. This role sits outside of firmware, software, hardware engineering, and system test organizations. This independence allows you to hold teams accountable, identify problems, and resolve cross-team dependencies to keep design and test teams efficient.
What you'll do#
- Set priorities to ensure the delivery of customer value.
- Manage the delivery of product revisions, features, and releases.
- Resolve dependencies across different teams to help design and test groups succeed.
- Identify risks and gaps in current processes.
- Advocate for the customer while raising standards for cost, quality, and scalability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership through academic projects, extracurriculars, or personal passion projects.
- Experience with CAD, 3D modeling, 2D engineering assembly drawings, and PLM systems like Enovia, Solidworks PDM, or Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with BOM management and creation.
- A systems-level mindset with the ability to drive design optimization across disciplines.
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals including thermal dynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and electronics.
- Experience solving open-ended engineering problems and a collaborative approach to work.
- Interest in the mission to accelerate the world transition to sustainable energy.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship requiring 40 hours per week.
- The program runs from January 2027 through May 2027, with potential for extension into Summer 2027.
- A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is required.
- Positions are available in Fremont, CA, Palo Alto, CA, Austin, TX, and Sparks, NV.
- This is a paid internship.
