About the role#
This internship focuses on vehicle low voltage power systems. You will work within the Vehicle Software organization to design and develop power distribution, manage power consumption, and improve system reliability. You will work across hardware, software, and system design to bring new features from initial concepts to vehicle deployment.
What you'll do#
- Architect vehicle low voltage power systems, including power distribution, power management, and network management.
- Convert vehicle product requirements into specific software and hardware requirements.
- Define system hardware and software interfaces.
- Lead the behavior design for low voltage power distribution products.
- Bring up and debug early hardware and software prototypes.
- Characterize systems to ensure they meet performance requirements.
- Support validation teams in creating component and system-level testing strategies.
- Debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment.
- Use field data analytics to improve system behavior and performance.
- Analyze proposed changes to assess their impact on the overall system.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Experience with C/C++.
- Experience with embedded systems.
- A solid understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $36.06 - $58.89 per hour, plus benefits.
