About the role#
This internship supports the global sustainability team at Tesla. You will help manage sustainability strategy, compliance, and reporting. Your work involves monitoring progress on defined goals and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring 40 hours per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with environmental strategy, including the management of GHG emissions, waste, and water footprints.
- Support the development and implementation of decarbonization strategies.
- Contribute to sustainability reporting, specifically for the annual Impact Report.
- Manage responses to ESG questionnaires and rating agencies.
- Help track regulatory compliance requirements, such as CSRD, CSDDD, and EU battery regulations.
- Create materials to communicate sustainability data and issues across various formats.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Communications, or Business.
- Familiarity with corporate sustainability, regulatory landscapes, and ESG reporting frameworks.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Data management and analytical capabilities.
- Clear written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different formats.
- Experience working with stakeholders across different time zones.
- Previous coursework or experience related to environmental impact is preferred.
Location & details#
- Locations: Fremont, California or Austin, Texas.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027 (January through April/May).
- Compensation: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour plus benefits.
