About the role#
The Factory Software team builds infrastructure solutions to improve manufacturing processes. You will work on software that supports production, using a stack built on Kubernetes, Kafka, React, and Go. This role involves direct collaboration with controls engineers and operators to build automation systems that are both adaptive and fault-tolerant.
What you'll do#
- Interface with controls engineers and operators to build effective automation systems.
- Define and implement automation process flows.
- Respond to manufacturing process change requests.
- Build tools, test-automation, and documentation.
- Inspect and analyze network protocols used in automation systems.
- Implement, deploy, and maintain backend automation applications.
- Define architectures for distributed and adaptive automation systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree program.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, TCP/IP, and network programming.
- Experience with Kubernetes, UNIX administration, and front-end browser development.
- Knowledge of distributed computing, data storage systems, queues, and stream processing.
- Ability to write solid, testable, and maintainable code.
- Experience working in collaborative team environments.
Location & details#
- Location: Fremont, California.
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Terms available: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $40.00 - $56.00 per hour plus benefits.
- This is a full-time internship requiring a minimum 12-week commitment.
