About the role#
This internship focuses on supply chain operations, supplier quality, and industrialization. You will work within the Supply Chain department to support component development, manufacturing feasibility, and process improvement. This role requires on-site work and involves collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to meet production goals.
What you'll do#
- Manage critical component development, quality management, and qualification activities.
- Evaluate manufacturing risks and assess the feasibility of processes like laser welding, dispensing, and pick and place operations.
- Lead internal program reviews for new product introduction projects, including milestone tracking and issue reporting.
- Conduct failure analysis and lead statistical process control activities.
- Develop data collection plans and design of experiments to identify performance factors.
- Audit and correct supplier planning, execution, and corrective actions.
- Drive improvements in supplier scalability, cost, and quality using lean methodologies.
- Communicate project status and technical requirements across internal and external teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with GD&T, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Minitab.
- Proficiency in software including MySQL, Tableau, Excel, and flowcharting tools.
- Knowledge of PPAP and APQP processes.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Background in areas such as production control, root cause analysis, material flow, or systems engineering.
- Ability to work as a self-starter in a manufacturing environment.
Location & details#
- Locations: Fremont, CA; Lathrop, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Austin, TX; or Sparks, NV.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site for at least 12 weeks.
- Eligibility: This program is for students currently enrolled in an academic program. Sponsorship is not provided.
