About the role#
This internship focuses on electric vehicle charging and energy regulatory strategies. You will join the Public Policy and Business Development team to support market analysis and strategic engagement at the state and local levels. Your work will involve utility programs, equipment standards, permitting, and fleet electrification. You will also have the opportunity to develop a capstone project centered on a priority energy policy issue.
What you'll do#
- Summarize and analyze regulatory filings.
- Research legislation and develop internal briefings.
- Assist with the creation of new policy and business initiatives.
- Manage complex, cross-functional projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather input and advise on policy developments.
- Work with external stakeholders to support public policy priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate program for Political Science, Public Policy, Technology Policy, International Studies, or a related field with a focus on energy and sustainability.
- Experience with federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory processes.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Project management experience, specifically in handling multiple cross-functional projects at once.
- Prior experience in EV charging or energy policy within government, nonprofits, or industry associations is preferred.
- Ability to commit to this role for at least 6 months.

- Locations: Palo Alto, California or Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Winter 2027 through Spring 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, 40 hours per week for at least 12 weeks.
- Modality: On-site.
