About the role#
As a CMF Design intern, you will support the design, development, and production of our vehicle fleet and related products. Your work combines creative design, research, and program management. You will help define the look and feel of our interiors and exteriors while managing the resources that bring those designs to life.
What you'll do#
- Ideate and develop design proposals for colors, materials, and finishes.
- Create digital and physical presentations that communicate future design visions.
- Partner with design and manufacturing teams to implement production-ready assets.
- Manage the CMF release process and project documentation.
- Build relationships with suppliers and vendors to source new materials and technologies.
- Maintain the CMF materials library by identifying and organizing new samples.
- Conduct visual material evaluations and color measurement activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Industrial, Transportation, Textile, or Color and Material Design.
- Strong interest in automotive color, material, and finish design.
- Ability to communicate visual ideas clearly through presentations.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to solve problems and learn new concepts quickly.
- Experience delivering results on projects with tight deadlines.
- 3D software and rendering skills are preferred.
- Previous hands-on experience or past internships are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Hawthorne, California.
- Term: Winter and Spring 2027.
- Modality: This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site position.
- Requirements: You must be actively enrolled in an academic program to participate. This role requires a minimum 12-week commitment.
