About the role#
As a Service Technician Trainee intern, you will work hands-on with customer vehicles at the service center. You will learn about electric vehicles and the technology behind them. This role involves working in a team and interacting with customers. Successful interns may have the opportunity to advance into the Tesla START Apprenticeship Program based on performance and program capacity.
What you'll do#
- Perform entry-level inspection, repair, and service on electric vehicles.
- Use a variety of hand, power, and shop tools.
- Conduct equipment inspections, adjustments, and certifications.
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections for new cars.
- Keep customer vehicles clean.
- Manage inventory and maintain records of time, parts, and shop supplies.
- Assist with Parts and Front of House operations on a rotational basis.
What you'll need#
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.
- Current enrollment in an Automotive program is preferred.
- A valid driver license.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- A safety-first mindset and the ability to work well in a team.
- Basic computer skills, including web browsing and Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with the English language.
- Ability to report to the local service center or training location as required.

- Employment Type: Full-time intern.
- Compensation: $27.50 per hour.
