About the role#
This internship supports the geotechnical service line in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will work alongside professional engineers and technicians to gain real-world experience in consulting. Each intern is paired with a mentor who assists with career planning and technical skill development. You will participate in a cohort with other interns and attend a concluding summit to meet leadership and build your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Perform sampling and testing tasks as directed.
- Assist field and laboratory personnel with routine projects.
- Seek learning opportunities from your assigned mentor.
- Take on progressively more responsibility as your training advances.
- Create and deliver a final presentation to leadership about your summer experience.
- Learn about laboratory safety, soil test procedures, data review, report preparation, and project management basics.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current enrollment in a BS or Master's degree program for civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Less than one year remaining until the completion of your degree.
