About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Winter 2027. You will join a cross-functional team to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our manufacturing sites. The role requires you to work on-site for 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply Job Safety Analysis and Job Hazard Analysis procedures.
- Identify and implement ways to reduce water usage and waste.
- Investigate work-related incidents, determine root causes, and help develop safety solutions.
- Educate and motivate hourly plant employees to meet safety goals.
- Develop training materials for the Behavior Based Safety program.
- Inspect workplace environments and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist in designing workplace processes, including engineering controls.
- Perform administrative recordkeeping and provide training feedback.
- Participate in projects such as Lockout/Tagout improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in a college program for Environmental, Occupational Safety, or a Science/Technical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to perform duties under time constraints and adapt to changing responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly by phone and in person.
