About the role#
The Business Analyst Co-op works with the Senior Business Advisor to drive performance reporting, metric tracking, and process improvements. You will support the Teck Digital Systems (TDS) Strategy, Planning & Performance department by facilitating planning routines and engaging with stakeholders across finance, human resources, and risk management. This 8-month role offers exposure to strategy and planning within a multi-national corporation.
What you'll do#
- Act as a courageous safety leader by following and sponsoring all safety and environmental procedures.
- Support PMO intake and resource allocation processes by analyzing data, preparing reports, and maintaining project information.
- Engage with technical and business stakeholders to prepare and deliver presentations.
- Gain hands-on experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools.
- Act as a Business Analyst on selected projects to gather requirements, conduct data analysis, and prepare documentation.
- Assist with quality assurance, testing, and validation activities.
- Identify business problems, support process reviews, and participate in change-management activities.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and digital solutions.
- Participate in mentorship, coaching, and targeted training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the term, with plans to return to studies for at least one academic term afterward.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and work across departments.
- Comfort initiating actions, asking questions, and proposing ideas within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, slide creation).
- Interest in project management, the mining industry, and enterprise technology topics like cloud services and cybersecurity.
- A dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Exposure to Power BI, MS Project, or Planner is an asset, as is familiarity with SDLC approaches like Agile or Waterfall.
- Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
