About the role#
We are looking for a Business Analyst Co-op student to join our Govern and Operate team within Data & Analytics. This 8-month role offers hands-on experience in data governance, operations, and business analysis. You will work with teams responsible for data oversight and technology to translate business needs into practical governance solutions. You will help improve how data is managed, accessed, and valued across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by following and promoting all safety and environmental procedures.
- Support the configuration and implementation of technology for data management and quality assurance.
- Work with stakeholders to identify data-related needs, challenges, and requirements.
- Conduct business analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap assessments.
- Create and maintain data management artifacts like data dictionaries, business glossaries, and governance procedures.
- Assist with data quality initiatives by identifying issues and supporting remediation.
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders and data owners.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for various stakeholder groups.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity about data.
- Ability to organize complex information and communicate it clearly, both in writing and verbally.
- Interest in data oversight, information management, or digital transformation.
- Comfort collaborating with both business and technical partners.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or SQL.
- Previous experience with data governance, metadata, or business analysis is an asset.
- Enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the term, with plans to return to studies afterward.

- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 4, 2027).
- Duration: 8 months.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: CAD $4,108 - $5,183 per month.
