About the role#
As a Software Developer Co-op, you will work with our architecture and development teams to design and build software solutions. You will report to the Agile Development Manager and collaborate with senior engineers to solve technical challenges. This role involves participating in system design, managing technical risks, and contributing to the ongoing development of our platform. You will gain experience in large-scale image processing, circuit engineering workflows, and front-end development.
What you'll do#
- Design software systems and identify appropriate technology stacks.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support system deployment.
- Implement front-end and back-end software solutions.
- Build proof-of-concepts to test new design ideas.
- Review platform architecture and provide feedback on technical proposals.
- Maintain technical documentation and record intellectual property.
- Contribute to telemetry and monitoring to track platform performance.
- Provide DevOps support, including bug triage and troubleshooting.
- Assist end-customers during high-severity platform situations.
- Present and defend design choices to senior engineering staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with software concepts and hands-on programming.
- Familiarity with data and software architecture principles.
- Experience working on complex projects within an Agile environment.
- Background in building technical integrated products, preferably in a SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and set realistic commitments.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A bias for action and iterative development.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- The role is based on-site at our office in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
