About the role#
KLA is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our engineering team for the Summer 2027 term. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and support software solutions that contribute to advanced semiconductor process control and inspection systems. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world projects and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software applications and features.
- Develop and execute unit tests, automation scripts, and validation procedures.
- Analyze software defects, troubleshoot issues, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, and quality engineers to deliver project objectives.
- Utilize development tools, source control systems, and CI/CD workflows.
- Document software designs, test results, and technical findings.
- Present project progress and results to engineering teams and management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with software development tools such as Git, Visual Studio, VS Code, or similar IDEs.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML, computer vision, image processing, or data analytics.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
