About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join the team responsible for building inspection, metrology, and analytics systems. You will work within the Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit to help chip manufacturers maintain high quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Milpitas, California.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain mask inspection software.
- Create utilities for machine control and data flow management.
- Solve system problems by working with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, optical, and algorithm engineers.
- Gain in-depth domain knowledge by collaborating across different engineering groups.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Experience working in a Unix-based environment.
- Debugging skills and knowledge of machine control.
- Familiarity with multi-threaded and multi-process programming.
- Experience using AI coding assistants like Claude Code, Devin, or Cursor, including the ability to write effective prompts and evaluate generated code for reliability.
- Robotics experience is a plus.
