About the role#
KLA is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test software solutions that support our semiconductor process control and inspection systems. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world projects and modern development workflows.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
- Develop and run unit tests, automation scripts, and validation procedures.
- Analyze software defects, troubleshoot issues, and help implement solutions.
- Collaborate with software, systems, and quality engineers to reach project goals.
- Use software development tools, source control systems, and CI/CD workflows.
- Document software designs, test results, and technical findings.
- Present your project progress and results to engineering teams and management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Less than 1 year of related experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with object-oriented design, source control, and software testing is preferred.
- Exposure to AI/ML, computer vision, image processing, or data analytics is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
