About the role#
As a Lease Administration Intern at TDS, you will support a national portfolio of telecommunications real estate leases. This role provides hands-on experience with lease management, contract documentation, and payment workflows. You will work alongside experienced professionals to keep lease records accurate and audit-ready while gaining insight into how infrastructure assets are managed.
What you'll do#
- Assist with lease abstraction and data entry, including tracking rent, escalators, and expiration dates.
- Review and maintain lease documentation to ensure records are complete and organized.
- Support invoice processing and payment-related workflows.
- Identify and correct data inconsistencies in lease and payment records.
- Prepare trackers and reports for the lease administration team.
- Collaborate with leasing, finance, and operations teams on projects supporting portfolio management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Urban Planning, Operations, Information Systems, or Data Analytics.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filters, and basic pivots.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in lease administration, real estate operations, or infrastructure assets.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, with 8-10 hours in the office (Monday-Wednesday).
- Duration: 12-month internship.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
