About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship program designed to prepare you for a career in retail leadership. Over the course of the summer, you will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work closely with managers and team members to understand how the business operates and what it takes to lead a store. This is a hands-on program where you will spend the majority of your time on the salesfloor, identifying priorities and supporting the team.
What you'll do#
- Spend time on the store salesfloor and in the backroom leading team members.
- Work alongside your Executive Team Lead mentor to gain insight into their daily responsibilities.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage your workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and helpful.
- Lead daily huddles, set goals, and provide feedback to the team.
- Review business reports and guest insights to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and building displays.
- Participate in company training activities and developmental opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Effective communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and business processes.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capability to handle physical requirements, including climbing ladders and lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Locations include various stores in Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, San Pedro, Seal Beach, Westminster, and Huntington Beach, California.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
