About the role#
This is a paid, 40-hour per week summer internship designed to provide a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in store leadership. Throughout the program, you will work alongside a mentor to understand the fundamentals of retail business, team management, and guest engagement. This role focuses on developing your leadership skills while you contribute to store operations and team performance.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate team members while aligning them on daily business priorities.
- Drive sales results, merchandise products, and maintain an inviting store environment.
- Engage with guests to solve specific needs and ensure an exceptional shopping experience.
- Partner with store leaders to provide performance feedback, coach team members, and address concerns.
- Manage store departments, including planning workloads and setting goals to meet business objectives.
- Participate in talent management, including recruiting and selecting team members.
- Lead or present at daily huddles and review business reports to identify improvement areas.
- Collaborate with store leaders to organize daily plans and execute operational tasks.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management and a team-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capacity to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
