About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship program based in a Target Food Distribution Center. You will gain hands-on experience in operations leadership by working alongside managers and team members. The program is designed to provide a realistic preview of the Operations Manager role, helping you develop management skills within a supply chain environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support the execution of daily operations on the facility floor.
- Plan daily goals and organize shift plans to meet targets.
- Track key performance indicators including safety, quality, and productivity.
- Conduct process improvement initiatives to support a lean operation.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles.
- Lead daily team meetings and present at planning sessions.
- Conduct safety walks and audits to ensure standard adherence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Participation in school or extracurricular activities.
- Strong interest in working in a retail supply chain environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility.
