Quality Internship

About the role#

Superior Trim is seeking an intern to join the Quality team in Springfield, Ohio, for the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on the practical application of documenting manufacturing processes, specifically regarding work instructions for a new product launch. You will gain experience in the full lifecycle of technical documentation, from initial concept through to implementation on the production floor.

What you'll do#

• Draft, edit, and format detailed work instructions for manufacturing and support processes to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Observe production processes on the floor to document step-by-step procedures, control points, and inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Operators to validate content and ensure instructions reflect actual process conditions.
• Incorporate quality requirements, such as inspection criteria, defect identification, and containment steps, into documentation.
• Integrate visual aids including photos, diagrams, and flow steps to improve operator understanding and reduce process variation.
• Convert existing tribal knowledge and legacy documents into standardized, controlled documentation.
• Support updates to instructions based on process changes, corrective actions, or quality alerts.
• Assist in maintaining a centralized system for document control, version tracking, and archival.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be entering or currently in your junior or senior year.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different functional teams.
