About the role#
Superior Trim is seeking an intern to join the Quality team during the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on the development of work instructions for a new product launch, covering the full process from concept to implementation. You will gain practical experience in translating technical manufacturing processes into standardized, controlled documentation.
What you'll do#
- Draft, edit, and format detailed work instructions for manufacturing and support processes to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Observe production floor processes to document step-by-step procedures, control points, and inspection requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Operators to validate content and ensure instructions reflect actual process conditions.
- Incorporate quality requirements, including inspection criteria, defect identification, and containment steps.
- Add visual aids such as photos, diagrams, and flow steps to improve operator understanding and reduce process variation.
- Convert verbal instructions and legacy knowledge into standardized documentation.
- Support updates to instructions based on process changes, corrective actions, or quality alerts.
- Maintain a centralized system for document control, including version tracking and the archival of obsolete instructions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be in your junior or senior year of study.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
