About the role#
Summit Health is hiring a Medical Assistant Extern for our Cromwell location. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role with a rolling start date. You will work under the supervision of a preceptor to gain experience in a clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Greet patients and assist with their flow throughout the facility.
- Take vital signs, measure height and weight, and perform EKGs.
- Conduct or observe point of care rapid testing, urinalysis, and pregnancy testing.
- Handle administrative tasks, including answering phones and restocking supplies.
- Maintain documentation for infection control and quality control.
- Properly handle medical equipment and assist with clerical duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a medical assistant program.
- Interest in fields such as Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Ability to shadow a preceptor for daily clinical and administrative tasks.
- Comfort interacting with patients in a clinical setting.
