About the role#
Stikeman Elliott LLP is seeking a Director, Articling Student Programs to join the Talent Management team in Toronto. This role focuses on the career development and engagement of articling students while supporting student recruitment and the creation of professional development programs for legal professionals. You will work alongside Talent Management Directors, the Students Committee, and firm management to support the firm's commitment to student success. Over time, this position offers exposure to Associate Programs and the opportunity to collaborate with various groups of timekeepers at the firm.
What you'll do#
- Oversee career development and engagement initiatives for articling students.
- Assist with student recruitment efforts.
- Develop professional development programs for legal professionals.
- Manage large-scale projects and handle multiple competing priorities.
- Collaborate with different groups of timekeepers and firm management.
- Apply effective problem-solving skills with a diplomatic approach.
What you'll need#
- A law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- At least 6 years of experience practicing law or working in talent management at a large law firm.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and judgment skills.
- Excellent written and oral presentation abilities.
- A strong interest and aptitude for mentoring and training others.
