About the role#
We are looking for an Events Intern to join our Hospitality Services team. This role provides hands-on experience in event coordination and daily hospitality operations within a professional services environment. You will work alongside the Hospitality Manager and the Front Desk team to ensure firm meetings, client events, and employee activities run smoothly. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of meetings, receptions, recruiting events, and firmwide retreats.
- Handle logistics including catering orders, invoice processing, restaurant reservations, and vendor recordkeeping.
- Provide onsite support by managing event setup, guest assistance, and breakdown.
- Partner with the Front Desk team to greet visitors, manage registration, and assist with wayfinding.
- Prepare conference rooms and ensure beverage setups are ready for meetings.
- Maintain event calendars, records, and inventory while assisting with special projects and seasonal programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program, preferably in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, Communications, or Marketing.
- Prior experience in hospitality, catering, event planning, or administration is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to lift and transport event materials as needed.
