About the role#
As a Social Media Marketing Co-op, you will support the daily execution of the social content strategy for Staples Canada and Staples Professional. You will report to the Manager of Social Media and work alongside our social media agency to drive engagement, grow our online community, and increase brand awareness.
What you'll do#
- Assist with content creation tasks, including copywriting, basic design, and short-form video production.
- Track performance metrics and compile weekly reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for product launches, seasonal moments, and campaigns.
- Research social trends, competitor activity, and new platform features to inform our strategy.
- Support influencer and partnership initiatives.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all social touchpoints.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
- 0 to 1 years of experience in social media, marketing, or communications (including internships, school projects, or personal content creation).
- Strong understanding of major platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Basic skills in copywriting, photo or video editing, and design.
- Familiarity with social media analytics and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing software is an asset.
- Knowledge of social media management platforms and paid social fundamentals.
- Comfort being on-camera for short-form content.
