About the role#
As an Intern Architect at Stantec, you will work under the guidance of licensed architects on a variety of projects. You will contribute to design solutions across the science and technology, industrial, corporate, and municipal markets. This position is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Conceptualize building designs and place making from both functional and aesthetic perspectives.
- Develop designs through sketches, physical and electronic models, diagrams, and massing studies.
- Use BIM technologies to create three-dimensional building models.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, and designers.
- Evaluate building systems and materials for compatibility with design intent.
- Assist in the development of programs and pre-design efforts.
- Produce coordinated construction documents.
- Support projects from the planning stage through design, bidding, and construction.
- Perform site surveys to document existing building conditions.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Participate in professional and community organizations.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with professional experience in BIM and CAD.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, codes, and building programs.
- Knowledge of accessibility, building, and life-safety codes.
- Understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred: Experience in healthcare or education projects, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, and Lumion.
