About the role#
The Policy and Research Intern joins the American Legislative Exchange Council to support various policy initiatives. You will work with one of several departments, such as Education, Health and Human Services, Tax and Fiscal Policy, or Energy, Environment, and Agriculture. This role offers exposure to the ALEC model policy process and provides opportunities to network with legislative and private sector members.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with research, writing, and public communications.
- Engage with one of the organization's specific policy initiatives.
- Participate in the ALEC model policy process.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate, graduate, or law student, or a recent graduate.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work as a self-starter in a collaborative environment.
- Attention to detail.
