About the role#
The R Street Institute is seeking a Digital Communications Intern to support its online engagement and multimedia efforts. This role is part of the Koch Internship Program, a paid experiential learning program that offers professional development and leadership training. You will act as a digital generalist, helping to transform research, events, and podcasts into strong content packages across multiple platforms. This position is open to students and recent graduates.
What you'll do#
- Draft social media copy for research, events, videos, podcasts, and media appearances.
- Edit short-form and long-form video content, including clips, captions, and platform-specific assets.
- Create and edit branded graphics and thumbnails.
- Publish and update content in WordPress, such as articles, event pages, and staff bios.
- Assist with analytics and reporting for social media, video, and website performance.
- Maintain organization of digital assets, content calendars, and shared files.
- Proofread public-facing content to ensure accuracy, branding consistency, and correct formatting.
What you'll need#
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Experience creating visual and multimedia content, specifically video and graphics.
- Basic graphic design skills, ideally using Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms.
- Comfort appearing on camera and participating in video content when appropriate.
- An interest in digital communications, public policy, journalism, or marketing.
- A portfolio or examples of previous digital work are highly encouraged.
