About the role#
As an Associate Policy Analyst Intern with the National Taxpayers Union Foundation, you will support research, analysis, and outreach efforts centered on budget and tax reform. You will work on projects that track policy proposals and budget data while contributing to issue briefs and website content. This role is open to students and recent graduates who have an interest in how government spending and regulations affect the public.
What you'll do#
- Track and analyze policy proposals and budget data.
- Write content for issue briefs and the organization website.
- Support the Taxpayers Budget Office by working to improve fiscal transparency, strengthen cost estimates, and reduce wasteful spending.
- Assist the Free Trade Initiative in educating the public on the economic benefits of trade.
- Collaborate with the Center for State Competitiveness to address issues regarding states taxing and regulating outside their borders.
What you'll need#
- Strong research, communication, and writing skills.
- Basic quantitative skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A specific interest in budget, tax, and regulatory policy.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate, graduate, or law student, or recent graduate status.
- Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the program.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term.
- You may work in a remote capacity or on-site in Washington, DC.
- Applicants must be geographically located in the United States.
