About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network offers clinical opportunities for nursing students to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting. This role involves working directly under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide goal-directed, individualized patient care. Students will participate in the nursing process and follow established care plans to support patients and the healthcare team.
What you'll do#
- Assist in providing patient care and perform basic patient care tasks.
- Conduct physical assessments of patients.
- Administer medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Document patient care accurately in medical records.
- Prepare patients for transport to other departments and assist with discharge planning.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
What you'll need#
- Completion of nursing school requirements.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in stressful or unpredictable situations.
- Effective communication skills and basic patient care knowledge.
- Successful completion of criminal background and health history clearances, with documentation ready for submission.
