About the role#
This is a part-time, limited duration position for up to 6 months, open exclusively to Chemawa students. You will support the Food and Beverage department, including roles such as bus person, barista, kitchen steward, and prep cook. This role requires complete open availability.
What you'll do#
- Provide attentive and friendly service to customers.
- Clear and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and beverage units.
- Scrape and wash dishes by hand or using a conveyor machine.
- Prepare and serve beverages, ice cream, and other menu items as a barista.
- Manage inventory by completing transfers, orders, and waste sheets.
- Prepare food by measuring ingredients and washing, peeling, or cutting produce.
- Follow safety policies, H.A.C.C.P. guidelines, and company regulations including Title 31.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Minimum of three months of related experience or training is preferred.
- Valid Oregon Food Handler's Permit.
- State of Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server’s Permit.
- Ability to obtain a low security gaming license from the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- Proficiency in using a computer-based POS system.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and preparation practices.

- This position involves frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
