About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will support customers in finding eyewear that meets their visual needs while ensuring comfort and style. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician to provide personalized service and maintain the high standards of the practice. This role is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in an optical environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers in understanding their visual needs and interpreting optical prescriptions.
- Provide personalized guidance on frame and lens selection.
- Perform accurate dispensing measurements using digital tools.
- Manage after-care services, including resolving complaints.
- Contribute to daily store operations by maintaining cleanliness and managing inventory.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program in your province.
- At least 2 years of previous customer service experience, preferably in an optical dispensary.
- Ability to thrive in a retail environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends.
- Motivation to build long-term customer relationships.
Location & details#
- Location: Pickering, Ontario.
- Schedule: Up to 24 hours per week, with weekend availability required.
- Status: Part-time, on-site, and paid.
