Part Time Student Optician

About the role#

As a Student Optician, you will play a key role in helping customers see and feel their best. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Optician, you will collaborate with retail and clinical teams to provide personalized advice and support, ensuring every pair of glasses is tailored for comfort, style, and function.

What you'll do#

• Assist customers in understanding their visual needs and interpreting prescriptions.
• Provide personalized guidance on frame and lens selection to ensure optimal vision and fit.
• Perform accurate dispensing measurements using digital tools and conduct quality assurance checks.
• Maintain strong knowledge of frames, lenses, treatments, and current promotions.
• Manage after-care services, including resolving customer complaints.
• Support contact lens recommendations and handle third-party billing.
• Contribute to daily store operations, including inventory management and maintaining store standards.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program in your province.
• At least 2 years of previous customer service experience.
• Ability to stay organized and composed in a retail environment.
• Reliability and flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Location & details#

• Location: 22-800 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, Nova Scotia.
• Schedule: Part-time, up to 24 hours per week.
• Modality: On-site.
