About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support engineering activities focused on design and process improvement. You will work with the engineering team to design and build prototypes for core technology. This role involves making layouts, creating detail drawings, and evaluating equipment methods to identify their advantages and disadvantages. You will also stay informed about new developments in processes and equipment that could improve manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist in engineering activities supporting design or process improvement.
- Support the engineering team in designing and building prototypes.
- Create layouts and detail drawings for assigned equipment.
- Evaluate equipment and methods to determine their production capabilities.
- Monitor process capabilities to ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Stay current with new developments in equipment or processes.
- Contribute to cross-functional or project teams as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electrical skills.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and learn quickly.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident to comply with export regulations.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance.
