About the role#
Space Kinetic is seeking an intern to support technical research and engineering analysis. You will work on mechanical systems, aerospace concepts, and projects related to astrodynamics. This role involves working closely with leadership on advanced space technology, engineering trades, and research tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical and aerospace engineering research activities.
- Assist with astrodynamics analysis, technical trades, and concept evaluations.
- Perform technical research on spacecraft systems, orbital mechanics, and space mission applications.
- Prepare engineering summaries, technical documentation, and presentation materials.
- Support rapid research tasks and problem-solving activities.
- Assist with analysis of engineering data and design approaches.
- Participate in technical discussions and engineering reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics degree program, or recent graduation within the last semester.
- Familiarity with astrodynamics or orbital mechanics concepts.
- Strong research and technical writing ability.
- Exposure to MATLAB, Python, STK, GMAT, or similar technical tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and learn quickly.
- Must meet U.S. Government export regulation requirements (ITAR).
