About the role#
The Southwest Florida Water Management District offers a Procurement Services Student Intern position for students seeking hands-on experience in purchasing and contracting. You will work alongside procurement specialists to support the agency mission of protecting water resources and managing flood risks. This is a paid, part-time internship based in our Brooksville office.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with the collection and storage of vendor performance records.
- Support Procurement Specialists throughout the solicitation process.
- Draft correspondence and schedule appointments.
- Conduct administrative reviews and vendor compliance checks.
- Complete research projects and other assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational program.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or 3.0 for graduate students.
- Valid driver's license.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Data entry experience.
- Preferred major: Business Administration or Business Management.
Location & details#
- Location: Brooksville, Florida.
- Modality: On-site only.
- Schedule: Typically no more than 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
- Travel: Infrequent travel within the District's coverage area using a District vehicle may be required.
