About the role#
Southland Holdings is offering a full-time Civil Engineering and Construction Management internship for the Fall 2026 term. This position provides practical on-the-job experience focused on construction phase activities. Interns are expected to work a full-time schedule and may need to travel to various job sites as required.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction observation and general oversight of contractors and sub-contractors.
- Perform construction staking, surveying, and quantity calculations.
- Document construction activities, including measuring and testing.
- Assist with general office duties, estimates, plan specifications, and project design.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to work for extended periods in outdoor conditions.
- Physical capability to navigate rugged terrain.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English.
