About the role#
Southern New Hampshire University is looking for students to serve as Literacy Tutors with Reading Partners. This role involves supporting elementary school students through a structured, evidence-based curriculum. You will work one-on-one with students to help them build literacy skills. This position is open to students currently receiving Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package.
What you'll do#
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to elementary school students using a structured curriculum.
- Review session notes before each lesson and complete notes after each session.
- Maintain a consistent weekly tutoring schedule during school hours.
- Interact effectively with students, showing patience and empathy.
- Use affirming language and remain engaged with reading materials.
- Adapt to schedule changes and provide feedback to the program team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program at SNHU.
- Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Completion of a tutor orientation session.
- For remote roles, access to a reliable computer with a webcam, microphone, and secure internet.
- A positive attitude toward learning and supporting students.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position.
- The role is paid, with an hourly rate between $13.00 and $15.00.
- Scheduling is flexible within the Monday through Friday, 8 am to 7 pm window.
- This position is offered on a rolling basis.
