About the role#
As a Pharmacy Technician Intern at South Shore Health, you work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, Supervisor, or Director. You perform a variety of duties to support hospital pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Fill routine drug orders for unit dose medications.
- Refill medications in Pharmacy Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
- Perform non-sterile and sterile compounding.
- Repackage medication into unit dose barcoded packages.
- Replenish drug supplies for code carts.
- Manage inventory duties for the Central Pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Current Pharmacy Intern license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Intern license.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT) certification.
- High school level of education is preferred.
- At least 3 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience is desirable.
