About the role#
This is a pharmacy intern position at a closed-door pharmacy. You will work in a non-retail environment focused on long-term care and senior living clients. You will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to support pharmaceutical needs for hospitals and specialized care centers.
What you'll do#
- Fill prescriptions and prepare IVs under direct supervision.
- Enter data into the computer system to fill prescriptions and process reimbursements.
- Prepackage medication for dispensing according to standards and regulations.
- Assist the pharmacist with final checks of filled prescriptions.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely delivery of medications to customers.
- Maintain inventory by receiving and rotating supplies, tracking lot numbers, and checking expiration dates.
- Keep the work environment clean and safe.
- Inspect equipment to ensure it remains calibrated and clean.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in pharmacy school.
- Ability to use a computer for data entry and processing.
- Strong attention to detail and a goal-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Necessary licenses and certifications as required by state and federal law.
