About the role#
As a System Integrity Engineer Intern, you will work with department managers and engineers on projects that support the growth of South Jersey Gas. This position provides hands-on experience in engineering design, analysis, testing, and project management. You will shadow actual operations and participate in activities designed to help you build a professional network.
What you'll do#
- Assist the department manager and engineers with project execution.
- Perform research, calculations, and analyses for upcoming projects.
- Create basic engineering schematics using design software.
- Support Distribution and Transmission Integrity Management Programs by gathering data and investigating records.
- Draft and implement technical reports and process improvement recommendations.
- Collaborate on a cross-functional project to present to the SJI Executive Leadership Team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Masters student in Mechanical or Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A professional demeanor and the ability to evaluate complex information.
- Ability to provide support and assistance to co-workers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Experience with Python or other programming languages is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
