About the role#
As a System Integrity Engineer Intern, you will work with department managers and engineers on projects that support our natural gas operations. This role provides hands-on experience in design, analysis, and system integrity. You will shadow actual operations and contribute to projects that help the organization grow. You will also collaborate on a cross-functional project to present to the SJI Executive Leadership Team.
What you'll do#
- Support the department manager and engineers with project execution.
- Perform calculations, analyses, and research for upcoming projects.
- Create basic engineering schematics using design software.
- Support Distribution and Transmission Integrity Management Programs through record investigation and data analysis.
- Draft, finalize, and implement new technical reports and process improvement recommendations.
- Shadow daily operations within the engineering department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Masters student in Mechanical or Civil Engineering at an ABET accredited college or university.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to evaluate complex information.
- Ability to provide support and assistance to co-workers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD or programming languages like Python is preferred.

- Compensation: $18 to $28 per hour.
