About the role#
Solid Power is looking for a Product Engineering Intern to assist our team in developing next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. You will work under the direction of engineers and scientists to support our lab operations. This position is open to students currently enrolled in a bachelor program at the junior level or higher, or graduate students in fields such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics.
What you'll do#
- Run experiments at the lab bench scale.
- Perform analytical measurements by following established standard operating procedures.
- Document and analyze your results with guidance from senior engineers.
- Share findings and potential roadblocks with the broader team.
- Adhere to all facility and laboratory safety protocols.
- Use personal protective equipment, including respirators and full-body gear, as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering are also applicable).
- Experience with the safe handling of hazardous materials, including work in gloveboxes.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of materials chemistry and material characterization techniques like XRD, SEM/EDS, or rheology is preferred.

- Location: Louisville, Colorado.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week during the fall semester.
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
- Note: This role is subject to export control restrictions. Applicants must be eligible to access controlled technology without sponsorship.
