About the role#
Solid Power is looking for a Cell Slurry Engineering Intern to support the development of all solid-state rechargeable batteries. You will work alongside scientists and engineers to help refine electrolyte and conductive slurry recipes. This role involves lab work and pilot production support.
What you'll do#
- Execute planned experiments in the lab and on pilot production equipment.
- Support cell design and process development throughout the product cycle.
- Use analytical instruments like DSC, Rheometers, DMA, and FTIR.
- Perform mechanical testing, including peel adhesion and mandrel bend.
- Collect and analyze data to share results and suggest future experiments.
- Maintain accurate records and follow all safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree program for Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
- Experience with material characterization techniques such as rheology, EIS, SEM/EDS, or DSC/TGA.
- Comfort handling hazardous materials and equipment safely.
- A foundation in statistical design (D.O.E.) and relevant software.
- Familiarity with Li-ion battery cell operation, performance, and failure modes.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Location & details#
- Location: Louisville, Colorado.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week during the fall semester.
- Status: Paid, part-time, rolling term.
