About the role#
Society Insurance is hiring a Staff Underwriting Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work 40 hours per week at our corporate office in Fond du Lac. This role offers exposure to commercial underwriting through hands-on projects and professional shadowing.
What you'll do#
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data to help prepare underwriting reports.
- Shadow underwriters to learn about risk evaluation, quoting, and renewal workflows.
- Observe and document how the team makes underwriting decisions and applies rating methodologies.
- Work on a department project focused on growth, profitability, or operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather insights and finish project deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, specifically in accounting, business, economics, finance, or insurance and risk management.
- Junior or senior collegiate status.
- Basic knowledge of computer software.
