About the role#
Society Insurance is seeking a Claims Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports the Claims department through technical skill development, project work, and job shadowing. You will gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry while working with a team to manage claims and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Settle low-level claims by reviewing coverage and determining liability.
- Verify policies and review policy forms to determine insurance coverage.
- Conduct investigations, including telephonic interviews with insureds and service providers.
- Authorize payments on repair estimates and replacement invoices.
- Observe field adjusting for fire, storm, and auto damage losses.
- Attend mediations, depositions, motion hearings, and trials.
- Prepare reports by researching, collecting, and summarizing project data.
- Assist with general data entry and ensure files meet company and state requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program within a business-related field.
- Junior or senior collegiate status.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Prior office experience is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
