About the role#
SkyGig is looking for an RFIC Design Intern to support the development, simulation, and validation of RF integrated circuits for wireless and satellite communications. This role offers hands-on experience working with experienced engineers on real product development during the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Design and simulate RF/analog front-end circuit blocks including LNAs, mixers, oscillators, PLLs, PAs, VGAs, and switches.
- Run circuit RF simulations to evaluate S-parameters, noise figure, gain, linearity, stability, and power consumption.
- Support layout reviews, parasitic extraction, and post-layout simulations.
- Analyze 2.5D and 3D EM circuit models and simulation outcomes.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of RF engineers.
- Prepare technical reports and participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of RFIC design experience.
- Background in RF CMOS, SOI, or SiGe technologies.
- Proficiency with tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, or ADS.
- Ability to translate system requirements into circuit requirements at the IC level.
- Experience with RFIC layout and post-layout simulation.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or scripting for data analysis and automation.
- Prior research or tapeout experience in RF/analog IC design.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
