About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in news reporting and journalism. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of a newsroom, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have the opportunity to build a portfolio of work. This is an unpaid, part-time position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers both in-house and in the field.
- Receive training on producing news segments from the control room.
- Learn to research and pitch news stories.
- Gain experience operating camera equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with eligibility to receive college credit for the internship.
- Ability to commit to approximately 15 hours per week for a 10-week duration (hours may vary based on news programming schedules).
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Reliable transportation to work on-site in Mishawaka, IN.
- Academic focus in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
