This internship provides students with hands-on experience in news reporting and journalism. Interns will gain exposure to the inner workings of a newsroom, build a portfolio with published work, and receive mentoring from experienced journalists. This is an unpaid, part-time position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers both in-house and in the field.
- Participate in training on news production, including operating camera equipment and understanding shot selection.
- Learn how to research and pitch stories.
- Gain experience producing news segments from the control room.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with eligibility to receive college credit for the internship.
- Ability to commit to approximately 15 hours per week for a 10-week duration.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Reliable transportation to work from the Mishawaka, IN location.
- Academic focus in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
